Direct Marketing Policy

Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law is committed to responsible, transparent, and ethical communication with authors, reviewers, readers, editors, academic institutions, and the wider scholarly community. All direct marketing and promotional activities undertaken on behalf of the journal shall be conducted in a professional manner and in accordance with internationally recognized principles of research integrity, publication ethics, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication.

The journal may disseminate information concerning calls for papers, special issues, publication opportunities, academic events, and other journal-related activities through appropriate communication channels. Such communications are intended solely to provide relevant and accurate information to members of the scholarly community and shall be directed primarily toward researchers, academics, practitioners, and institutions whose interests are reasonably aligned with the journal's aims and scope. The journal does not engage in aggressive solicitation, excessive promotional communication, or indiscriminate mass-email campaigns.

All information communicated through direct marketing activities shall accurately reflect the journal's identity, aims and scope, editorial structure, peer-review process, publication ethics, indexing and abstracting status, Open Access model, publication fees, editorial board, and other relevant journal policies. Justitia Nova does not make false, misleading, exaggerated, or unverified claims concerning indexing, accreditation, rankings, impact, acceptance rates, citation performance, editorial recognition, or any other aspect of the journal's academic standing. The journal shall not represent itself as indexed, accredited, ranked, or recognized by an organization unless such status has been formally established and can be independently verified.

Any invitation to submit a manuscript shall provide sufficient and accurate information for authors to make an informed decision. The journal shall never guarantee manuscript acceptance, publication, favorable peer-review outcomes, expedited editorial decisions, or preferential treatment on the basis of communication, affiliation, payment, or other considerations unrelated to academic merit. Manuscript solicitation shall not be used to create misleading expectations concerning the likelihood or timing of publication.

Direct marketing and promotional communication shall remain strictly separate from editorial and peer-review functions. Marketing activities, institutional relationships, promotional considerations, or other communication activities shall not influence the assessment of manuscripts, reviewer selection, peer-review outcomes, editorial decisions, publication priority, or the treatment of individual authors. All editorial decisions shall remain based on academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, legal and scholarly significance, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, and compliance with applicable publication standards.

The journal may use its official website, Open Journal Systems (OJS), institutional communication channels, official academic networking platforms, and other appropriate scholarly communication media to disseminate journal information. The Editorial Board is responsible for ensuring that information distributed through these channels remains accurate, current, verifiable, and consistent with the journal's official policies. Where external platforms are used, the journal shall take reasonable measures to ensure that communications accurately represent the journal and are not presented in a manner that could mislead authors, reviewers, readers, or other members of the academic community.

Justitia Nova does not engage in spam, deceptive solicitation, misleading promotional practices, false claims of indexing or accreditation, guaranteed-publication schemes, payment-based influence over editorial decisions, or any other communication practice that may compromise academic integrity or undermine trust in scholarly publishing. The journal also does not use direct marketing as a mechanism for obtaining financial or institutional advantage at the expense of editorial independence, scholarly quality, or author rights.

The Editorial Board periodically reviews the journal's direct marketing and communication practices to ensure that they remain appropriate, proportionate, transparent, and consistent with evolving standards of responsible scholarly publishing. Any identified communication practices that may create conflicts of interest, misleading representations, reputational risks, or concerns regarding academic integrity shall be reviewed and, where necessary, corrected promptly.

Through this policy, Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law affirms its commitment to responsible scholarly communication, editorial independence, transparency, and academic integrity. All journal-related promotional and direct communication activities are intended to support the legitimate dissemination of scholarly information while maintaining the trust of authors, reviewers, readers, academic institutions, and the broader international research community.
