Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content. The journal implements appropriate digital preservation and archiving practices to protect the scholarly record and to support the continued accessibility of published articles in the event of technical failures, platform migration, or institutional changes.

To support the long-term preservation and availability of its published content, Justitia Nova maintains digital preservation mechanisms that may include the Zenodo digital repository, the institutional repository maintained by Institut Miftahul Huda Al Azhar, and regular backups of the journal website, database, published articles, and related publication metadata. These mechanisms are intended to reduce the risk of permanent data loss and to support the continued integrity, accessibility, and reliability of the journal's scholarly record.

Published articles are intended to remain permanently accessible through the journal's official website in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy. The Editorial Office is committed to maintaining access to published content and preserving the scholarly record for researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, and the wider academic community.

Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where applicable, to facilitate persistent identification, accurate citation, and long-term discoverability. The journal also maintains essential article metadata, including bibliographic information, author details, abstracts, keywords, publication information, and other relevant metadata required to support indexing services, academic databases, library catalogues, and digital repositories.

Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in appropriate scholarly repositories, including institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, personal academic websites, recognized research networking platforms, and other suitable scholarly repositories. When depositing a published article, authors should provide complete citation information and clearly acknowledge Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law as the original publication venue.

The journal undertakes regular technical maintenance and backup of its digital infrastructure, including the journal website, database, article files, and associated publication metadata. These measures are intended to minimize the risk of data loss and support the continuity of journal operations. Appropriate technical and security measures are applied to protect the integrity and reliability of the journal's digital content.

In the event that publication of Justitia Nova is discontinued or the journal's publishing platform becomes unavailable, the publisher will make reasonable efforts to preserve access to previously published articles through available digital repositories, institutional preservation systems, and other appropriate archival mechanisms. The journal seeks to ensure that the scholarly record remains accessible even in the event of significant changes to its publishing infrastructure.

The Editorial Office is responsible for coordinating the preservation and archiving of the journal's published content, while the publisher and relevant institutional units may provide technical and infrastructural support for maintaining the availability and integrity of archived materials.

Through responsible digital preservation, regular data backup, repository archiving, DOI and metadata management, and continued maintenance of its digital infrastructure, Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law is committed to preserving the integrity, accessibility, discoverability, and long-term availability of its published scholarship and supporting sustainable scholarly communication for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the wider academic community worldwide.
