Journal History

Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law was established in 2025 and is published by Institut Miftahul Huda Al Azhar, Kota Banjar, Indonesia. The journal was founded as an international, peer-reviewed, and fully Open Access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing high-quality legal research and promoting the development of modern legal scholarship.

Since its inception, Justitia Nova has provided an academic platform for the publication of original research, review articles, conceptual papers, and case analyses that address contemporary legal issues from national, regional, and global perspectives.

Establishment

The journal officially commenced publication in 2025, with the release of its inaugural issue:

  • June 2025 — Volume 1, Issue 1.

  • December 2025 — Volume 1, Issue 2.

The publication of these issues marked the beginning of the journal's commitment to maintaining high editorial standards, rigorous peer review, and responsible scholarly publishing.

Journal Development

Since its establishment, the journal has continuously strengthened its editorial management and publication quality through:

  • Implementation of a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process.

  • Adoption of internationally recognized publication ethics and editorial policies.

  • Publication of all articles in English to broaden international accessibility.

  • Assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all published articles.

  • Expansion of the Editorial Board and Peer Review Board with national and international scholars.

  • Enhancement of Open Access publishing and digital preservation practices.

Internationalization

As part of its long-term development strategy, Justitia Nova continues to strengthen its international profile by:

  • Encouraging submissions from researchers worldwide.

  • Expanding collaboration with international editors and reviewers.
