Author Responsibilities

Justitia Nova: Indonesian Journal of Modern Law expects all authors to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical conduct, and scholarly responsibility throughout the submission, review, publication, and post-publication processes. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts and must comply with all journal policies and internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.

Originality

Authors must submit only original manuscripts that:

• Have not been previously published.

• Are not under consideration by another journal or publisher.

• Represent the authors' own scholarly work.

• Properly acknowledge the work of other researchers through accurate citation and referencing.

Any form of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or redundant publication is unacceptable.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript.

All listed authors should:

• Approve the final version of the manuscript.

• Agree to its submission.

• Accept responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the work.

• Meet internationally recognized authorship criteria.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

Accuracy of Reporting

Authors are responsible for presenting research findings honestly, accurately, and transparently.

Authors must not:

• Fabricate data.

• Falsify research findings.

• Manipulate images, figures, or tables.

• Misrepresent research methods or conclusions.

Citation and Referencing

Authors must:

• Cite all relevant sources accurately.

• Acknowledge previous research appropriately.

• Ensure that all references are complete and verifiable.

• Avoid excessive self-citation or citation manipulation.

Research Ethics

Where applicable, authors must ensure that their research complies with relevant ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.

Authors should obtain all necessary approvals, permissions, or informed consent required for the conduct and publication of their research.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.

If no conflicts exist, authors should include the following statement:

• "The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest."

Funding Disclosure

Authors should disclose all financial support, grants, sponsorships, or funding sources related to the research.

The role of the funding organization, if any, should also be clearly stated.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support manuscript preparation in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.

Authors remain fully responsible for:

• The originality of the manuscript.

• The accuracy of all information.

• The interpretation of research findings.

• Compliance with publication ethics.

Artificial Intelligence cannot be listed as an author.

Cooperation During Peer Review

Authors are expected to:

• Respond respectfully and constructively to reviewer comments.

• Revise manuscripts within the requested timeframe.

• Provide clear explanations for all revisions made.

• Cooperate fully with editors throughout the editorial process.

Post-Publication Responsibilities

After publication, authors have a continuing responsibility to:

• Notify the Editorial Office if significant errors are discovered.

• Cooperate in the publication of corrections, retractions, or other editorial actions where necessary.

• Preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Compliance with Journal Policies

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with all editorial policies of Justitia Nova, including policies on publication ethics, plagiarism, research integrity, conflicts of interest, copyright, open access, peer review, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and post-publication editorial actions.

Commitment to Responsible Scholarship

Justitia Nova encourages authors to conduct and communicate legal research responsibly, ethically, and transparently. Through adherence to these responsibilities, authors contribute to the advancement of trustworthy legal scholarship and the integrity of the global academic community.
