Publication Ethics

Al-Tijarah: Journal of Islamic Economics, Finance and Business (ISSN Online: 3109-1709) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and scholarly integrity throughout the editorial and publication process. The journal recognizes that ethical publishing is fundamental to advancing reliable scientific knowledge and fostering trust within the international academic community.

The publication of a peer-reviewed article represents the culmination of a rigorous academic process involving authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher. Every party participating in this process shares the responsibility of ensuring that research is conducted, evaluated, and disseminated in accordance with internationally recognized ethical standards. Al-Tijarah therefore adopts the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as the primary framework governing editorial policies, peer review, research integrity, and publication ethics.

The journal is committed to providing an independent, transparent, and fair editorial process. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance of the submitted manuscript to the journal's aims and scope. Any form of publication malpractice—including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, authorship misconduct, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and manipulation of the peer-review process—is considered unacceptable and will be addressed in accordance with internationally accepted ethical guidelines.

To uphold academic integrity, every manuscript submitted to Al-Tijarah undergoes an initial editorial assessment followed by a double-blind peer-review process conducted by qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject matter. Manuscripts may also be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering peer review. Where ethical concerns arise before or after publication, the Editorial Board will conduct a thorough investigation and may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when appropriate to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

The publisher, editors, reviewers, and authors are expected to cooperate in promoting responsible research practices, maintaining confidentiality throughout the editorial process, avoiding conflicts of interest, respecting intellectual property rights, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of published research. By submitting a manuscript to Al-Tijarah, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the journal's publication ethics and editorial policies.

The following sections describe the ethical responsibilities of editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher, as well as the journal's policies regarding authorship, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, artificial intelligence (AI), research misconduct, corrections, retractions, and copyright.
