Plagiarism Policy
Al-Tijarah: Journal of Islamic Economics, Finance and Business is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in all forms.
All submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are fully responsible for the authenticity and originality of their manuscripts.
Plagiarism Screening
Every submitted manuscript undergoes plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process.
The Editorial Office evaluates each submission using internationally recognized plagiarism detection software, including:
-
Turnitin
-
iThenticate (when available)
The purpose of similarity checking is to identify possible plagiarism, duplicate publication, redundant publication, inappropriate citation practices, and excessive text overlap.
Similarity Index
To be considered for peer review, manuscripts should generally meet the following similarity standards:
-
Overall Similarity Index: preferably below 20%
-
Similarity from a single source: preferably below 3%
The Editorial Team evaluates similarity reports carefully. Similarity percentages alone do not determine editorial decisions; properly quoted text, references, methodology descriptions, and legally acceptable overlaps are assessed in context.
Forms of Plagiarism
The journal considers the following practices to be unethical:
-
Direct plagiarism
-
Mosaic plagiarism
-
Self-plagiarism (redundant publication)
-

-

-

-
Citation manipulation
Any confirmed form of plagiarism constitutes a serious breach of publication ethics.
Editorial Action
If plagiarism is suspected at any stage of the publication process, the Editorial Team will conduct an investigation in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
Depending on the severity of the case, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:
-
Request manuscript revision.
-
Return the manuscript for correction.
-
Reject the manuscript.

-
the work is original;

all sources have been properly cited;

any reused material has received the necessary permission;
-
the manuscript does not infringe copyright or intellectual property rights.
Authors are solely responsible for any ethical violations related to plagiarism.
