Peer Review Process

Nahdlatul Fikr: International Journal of Islamic Studies, Education, and Humanities implements a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and scientific contribution. In this system, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to maintain objectivity and eliminate bias.

Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts are evaluated by the editorial team for relevance to journal scope, compliance with author guidelines, academic structure, and plagiarism check. Manuscripts that do not meet minimum standards may be rejected without external review.

Plagiarism and Ethical Check

Each manuscript is screened using plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality and compliance with publication ethics. Manuscripts with high similarity or ethical issues are rejected immediately.

Reviewer Assignment

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers based on academic qualifications, research expertise, publication experience, and international diversity when applicable.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity, and relevance. Reviewer decisions include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

Editorial Decision

Final decisions are made by the editorial board based on reviewer recommendations. In case of conflicting reviews, additional reviewers may be assigned.

Revision Stage

Authors must revise manuscripts according to reviewer feedback and resubmit within the given timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by editors or reviewers.

Final Acceptance and Publication

Accepted manuscripts undergo final editing, formatting, and proofreading before publication in the current or upcoming issue.

Review Timeline

The average review period is 2–4 weeks for initial review and 4–8 weeks until final decision, depending on revision cycles. The journal maintains a balance between quality and timely publication.

REVIEW ETHICS

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, provide objective and constructive feedback, and avoid bias. Any ethical misconduct will result in removal from the reviewer database.

CONCLUSION

The double-blind peer-review system ensures that all published articles meet international academic standards and contribute to Islamic studies, education, humanities, and interdisciplinary research globally.
