The journal is published by the Department of Family Law, Faculty of Sharia and Law, Institut Miftahul Huda Al Azhar Kota Banjar, West Java, Indonesia.

Munakahat provides a scholarly forum for researchers, academics, legal scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to examine Islamic family law from normative, doctrinal, comparative, socio-legal, empirical, and interdisciplinary perspectives.

The journal welcomes research on contemporary issues in Islamic family law, including marriage, divorce, child protection, inheritance, family assets, family governance, Islamic judiciary, legal pluralism, gender justice, family resilience, digital transformation, emerging technologies, and legal reform.

Particular attention is given to studies that connect Islamic family law with broader contemporary frameworks, including Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah, comparative law, human rights, socio-legal studies, digital governance, and sustainable family development.

The journal has an international scholarly orientation and welcomes contributions from researchers from Indonesia and other countries. Comparative and cross-jurisdictional studies are particularly encouraged to strengthen international scholarly dialogue on Islamic family law.
