Editors of Munakahat: Journal of Islamic Family Law are responsible for maintaining the academic quality, integrity, and editorial independence of the journal.
Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts fairly and objectively based on their scholarly quality, originality, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, and compliance with publication ethics. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the author's nationality, institutional affiliation, religion, gender, or other personal characteristics.
Editors are responsible for managing the peer-review process, selecting appropriate reviewers, ensuring confidentiality, evaluating reviewer recommendations, and making editorial decisions based on scholarly considerations.
Editors must disclose and appropriately manage any potential conflict of interest. They should not participate in editorial decisions concerning manuscripts in which they have a personal, professional, or academic interest.
Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and unpublished information and must not use such information for personal or professional advantage.
Editors should respond appropriately to allegations of plagiarism, research misconduct, unethical research practices, duplicate publication, or other breaches of publication ethics and, when necessary, initiate corrections, retractions, or other appropriate editorial actions.
Editors are also responsible for ensuring that the journal's editorial policies, peer-review procedures, publication ethics, and correction and retraction practices are clearly communicated and consistently implemented.
